This is a color pencil drawing I did from a photograph I took. It is of the remains/ ruins of this old church in Aquinton, VA. I captured this drawing using a Minolta DImage F100... or my Canon Powershot S2-IS... or something like that. Then I saved it as a TIFF file in my computer. Once I learned you can't upload a file that size onto DA (at least I can't), I then saved it as a JPEG file... so please excuse the lossiness, if any.
I've tried them again, and I'm happier with what I got. In your experience, have you found them to be brittle and break easily? I'm having trouble with that, and I'm wondering if it's my touch or the pencil. Any pointers?
Yeah. Just don't bare down too hard and you should be fine. However, they do break off in pencil-sharpeners very easilly. Nothing you can do about that except be patient.
I really like this! The shading is amazing - especially across the bricks.
The view through the window(?) is wild and seems like the wall is the only thing stopping it.
Wonderful.
Actually, this is part of the ruins of an American Indian church in Aquionton, VA. (USA). The "wild" view, as you put it, is actually part of a large cannopy that srang up on the inside of the structure over time. It is slightly out of focus. I will accept wild view, though. LOLZ! Thanks again for the compliment.
